Class Celebration and Thank-you!!

Today the children had a small class holiday celebration! They watched a special video, had a wonderful assortment of snacks (thanks to all the parents who sent food for the party) and sang songs.
Thank you all so much for the Park Royal gift card and beautiful pointsetta. I feel so spoiled by your amazing generosity and thankful for your kindness.!  A big thanks also goes out to the children and parents who gave me cards, chocolates, etc. I hope you all have a relaxing and beautiful
Christmas...

Celebrating the Season!

The children decorated gingerbread people today and had fun making paper chains as well.  Each child also helped to decorate a large gingerbread house that Jen, Sami's mom had made at home from scratch.  After the house was decorated the children invited Mr. Chan to our class to give him the gingerbread house as a special going away/Christmas gift!

Reindeer Riddles!

The grade ones love riddles! We decided on our favourite reindeer and elf riddles and each child chose one for their own reindeer to hold up on a sign!

Thursday Dec. 18th (afternoon) - Class Celebration

On the afternoon of Thursday, December 18th we will have a small class celebration prior to the holidays.  I have posted a "goodie" sign up list on the bulletin board in the classroom for those parents who would like to help us out by bringing a food item. Thank you!

Parent/Teacher Interviews and Early Dismissal!

Just a reminder that Parent/Teacher interviews are scheduled for next week and students will be dismissed at 2:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as a result. The sign up schedule is posted in the upstairs hallway near the office. You may call the office to set up a meeting for you if you can't come in person to do so yourself. Thank you!

North Vancouver Museum and Archives

The children had an engaging and informative visit to the N. Van. Museum & Archives Friday.  They learned about the lives of the early settlers and their winter activities and experiences. Some of the highlights were when they saw an actual one horse sleigh (minus the horse!), had a chance to play with some old-fashioned toys, and visited a replica of an early day kitchen with a wood burning stove (they all got firsthand experience using an old-fashioned apple corer too!).
