Our Last Few Minutes in Grade One!!

We got together for a few last pictures of the class before lining up to go home today (unfortunately we're missing three students in these photos).  I'll miss this wonderful and enthusiastic group of children! I wish everyone a safe and happy summer -- thank you all for your tremendous support throughout the school year!

Cleaning our Classroom!

The children did a great job sorting and organizing all of our classroom books! Some of the newly organized bins were quite heavy and navigating around the books on the floor could sometimes be a little challenging! These are a few of my eager volunteers!

The Grade Seven Farewell Assembly!!

Your child will be participating in the grade 7 farewell assembly on Friday, June 26 at 10:30 AM. The grade one students will each give a flower to the grade seven students as the ceremony draws to a close and they walk hand in hand down the aisle and out the gym doors. Please dress your child as neatly and formally as possible for this special event.

Unfortunately due to limited space, only the grade 7 students' parents and families will be able to attend this assembly.  There is a year-end final assembly at 1:30 in the afternoon, however, which all parents are welcome to attend! Thank-you so much for your support in helping us out with this important event!

Our 'Beach Party'!!

The children had a wonderful time today celebrating our year end party with a sprinkler, bubble machine, music, and lots of fabulous food and fun!  Thank you parents for all the goodies! Oh! And a big thanks to the parents who came early and helped set everything up and cleaned up when it was over!

Monday is Our 'Beach Party'!

Please send a bathing suit and towel to school with your child for our year end celebration at the school. It begins at 1:30 in the afternoon and parents are invited! It will take place outside in the basketball courtyard beside Mrs. Galpin's classroom.  Thanks to those parents who have signed up to bring some goodies for this event! If you'd like to bring something please make sure it's finger food! Thank-you!!

Our Sky Art Expedition to Brooksbank!

We did our Sky Art picture today! Lots of walking and waiting but the kids were well-behaved and we're looking forward to seeing our creation at tomorrow's assembly at Sutherland.

Sunscreen for Sky Art!

Please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen tomorrow as we are walking to and from Brooksbank Elementary School in the morning to participate in a Sky Art project on the field there.  We will leave Queensbury between 9:20 and 9:40 am and return before noon.

Lynn Canyon Ecology Center Fieldtrip!

The children had a wonderful time learning about and investigating the life cycles of plants and small animals (insects, slugs, mayflies, etc.) of Lynn Canyon today. A highlight at the end was crossing the suspension bridge -- all children enthusiastically crossed over and back -- even those who were initially nervous.
