Sunscreen for Sky Art!

Please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen tomorrow as we are walking to and from Brooksbank Elementary School in the morning to participate in a Sky Art project on the field there.  We will leave Queensbury between 9:20 and 9:40 am and return before noon.

Lynn Canyon Ecology Center Fieldtrip!

The children had a wonderful time learning about and investigating the life cycles of plants and small animals (insects, slugs, mayflies, etc.) of Lynn Canyon today. A highlight at the end was crossing the suspension bridge -- all children enthusiastically crossed over and back -- even those who were initially nervous.

Field Trip Reminder

As we will be walking in the forest tomorrow when we visit the Lynn Canyon Ecology Center, please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and is wearing good walking shoes such as runners. Thank you!

Word Rings!

I have collected the word rings from your children's home reading books except for a few that were not brought to school today or where the word rings were missing from their book bag. If you know where your child's word ring is could you please send it to school tomorrow as I have begun the process of collecting them all to return them to file them again for next year.  The home reading program will still continue, however, until Friday, June 19th.

Friday is Our Field Trip!!

Please remember to bring your child's booster seat to school on Friday morning with your child. Just place it in the hall outside of our classroom with your child's name on it (masking tape would work) to make the process easier.  Thank you very much! And thanks in advance to those parents who have volunteered to drive!  Drivers please arrive in our classroom by 12:35 as we'll be leaving at 12:45. Thank-you! 

Sky Art Assembly at Sutherland:

On Friday morning we are walking to Sutherland school for an assembly. Please ensure that your child has had breakfast that morning as they may not have a snack until we return at approximately 11 o'clock in the morning. Thank you!

We're having a Beach Party!! (At school!)

Please mark your calendars!  On Monday, June 22nd, we are celebrating the end of the school year with Mrs. Galpin's class by having a 'beach party' in the inner courtyard area outside her classroom beginning at 1:30 in the afternoon.  The children are invited to bring their bathing suits and towels to school that day as there will be a sprinkler set up for them to run through. Of course no party would be complete without goodies so there will be a sign-up list on the bulletin board in our classroom on Thursday morning for anyone who would like to help us out. Parents are welcome to come and enjoy our celebration.  If the weather does not cooperate we will change the date to Wednesday the 24th.  Thank-you!!!
